When is a dual column label required?

The FDA requires dual-column labeling when:

  1. A package contains between 1 and 2 servings and the serving size is larger than a common unit
  2. A product is intended for multiple population subgroups (e.g., adults and children under 4)
  3. The product requires both "per serving" and "per container" information
